MICROBLADING FAQ
What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic makeup technique that uses a delicate
microblade to create fine, crisp extremely natural looking individual hair strokes that
resemble natural eyebrow hairs. This service is ideal for those who have lost hairs in
the brow area due to alopecia, aging or simply having survived over-plucking in the 90s
and want to define, darken or reshape their eyebrows. A consultation is included ensure
that together we can achieve your desired results. Shading, sometimes also called powder
brows, is a different technique which can give a soft, more filled in look. Not sure which
you need? Don't worry, after a careful consultation, we will decide together which
is right for you!
How long does microblading last?
Truly, it varies on a few factors. Your skin type and after care can affect how long it
lasts but expect anywhere from a year to a few years.
Does it hurt?
It shouldn’t, the pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. I use a topical
numbing cream, a 5% lidocaine solution to help you be comfortable throughout the
service. Most people say it feels like a scratching sensation or like they brow hairs are
being plucked.
How long does it take?
For the first microblading session, the entire procedure should take about 2.5-3 hours.
During this session, I will shape and style the brows then follow with pigment color
selection. We will partner together to create the best color and shape to fit your
personal preferences. There is a 6 week follow up appointment that takes
approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete.
What is the healing process like?
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very
dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will
fade as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you
will notice slight scabbing. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. No down
time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for
the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in.
How long have you been doing this?
I have been in the beauty industry since 2008 and worked at a local spa before
venturing out on my own and opening up my micro blading shop in 2019.
